To illustrate the types of ethnicity data available in the LS, we will work through an example research question that addresses many of the common issues that you are likely to encounter in your own study.

Our research question is as follows:

What differences are there between ethnic groups in the numbers of people who move from local authority housing to become owner-occupiers, and how have these numbers changed over time?
