Introduction

Successive censuses and ongoing event registrations have contributed a wealth of location-based data to the LS. These data have been mapped onto a number of different geographies, based on administrative, health and other boundaries, at a range of spatial scales, all of which have been redrawn more than once over the timescale of the LS. Therefore, such data are affected by specific issues of comparability over time.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify suitable geographic data from the LS for your study question
  • Compare geographic LS data taken from different time points
  • Formulate a request for geographic LS data
